Leaving the Earth and travelling to Mars involves several technological and physiological challenges, among others. What is indispensable for the trip? And how can we return home, to planet Earth?

Researchers Rui Agostinho and Pedro Fevereiro, respectively from Instituto de Astrofísica e Ciências do Espaço (IA) and Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade de Lisboa (FCUL), and from Instituto de Tecnologia Química e Biológica António Xavier da Universidade Nova de Lisboa (ITQB-NOVA) and FCUL, talk about travels to Mars.
