Six-exoplanet system challenges current planet forming theories

Using a combination of telescopes, including EOS’s Very Large Telescope (VLT) and ESA’s CHEOPS space mission, astronomers have revealed a system consisting of six exoplanets, five of which are locked in a rare rhythm around their central star. However, the sizes and masses of the planets challenge current theories of planet formation.
