An adventure of Portuguese astronomy and engineering in the World’s driest desert, the Atacama, in Chile.
Registration required. The event is held in Portuguese. Questions may be asked in English.
In the last 30 years we have discovered that nearly all the stars we see in the sky at night have planets around them. Most of these planets should be rocky, like Earth. How do we know that? And how does this change the way we look at the sky?
With scientific ambition and technological ingenuity, Portuguese scientists and engineers are among the pioneers in the journey of discovery of other worlds. Among photographs and memories, join us in this event and learn about this technological and human adventure, moved by the desire of finding other “Earths” in the Universe.
Book launch, Talk and Conversation with Nuno C. Santos (IA and FCUP), Alexandre Cabral (IA and FCUL) and Claudio Melo (Agência Espacial Portuguesa).
The first 100 registrations will receive a copy of the book (one book per e-mail address used in the registration, regardless of the number of participants).
