Unique exoplanet photobombs Cheops study of nearby star system

While exploring two exoplanets in the bright nearby star Nu2 Lupi, ESA’s Cheops satellite has unexpectedly spotted the system’s third known planet crossing the face of the star. The analisys of this transit, which included several resesarchers from Instituto de Astrofísica e Ciências do Espaço (IA), revealed details which make this planet unique.
