Euclid is closer to revealing the geometry and history of the Cosmos

Conceção artística do telescópio Euclid. Na imagem em fundo, do enxame de galáxias Abell 2744, está representada a azul a distribuição de matéria no enxame. Esta distribuição é baseada na forma como o enxame curva a luz proveniente de galáxias mais distantes e indica que cerca de 75% da matéria não é detetável através de radiação eletromagnética, constituindo a chamada matéria escura.

The two scientific instruments of the Euclid mission will be integrated with the space telescope. Portugal, through the Instituto de Astrofísica e Ciências do Espaço (IA), takes part in the planning and in the future science of this ambitious mission.
