The ESPRESSO spectrograph, installed at the European Southern Observatory’s Very Large Telescope, was recently used to measure the fine-structure constant, one of the Universe’s fundamental constants. This work included several resesarchers from the Instituto de Astrofísica e Ciências do Espaço.
