A 100 milhões de anos-luz, na constelação de Peixes, a galáxia elíptica NGC 474 tem em seu redor muitas “conchas” de estrelas. São estruturas semi-esféricas que envolvem a galáxia central e são o que ainda resta de galáxias anãs satélites que caíram sobre ela.
