Notice: The October session of Noites no Observatório will be held, as an exception, on the 1st of October, in order to be closer to the European Researchers Night.
This month, we will celebrate the European Researchers Night with a special programme.
As an exception, there will be no booking system. However, the attendance of the public talk and concert is limited to the capacity of the planetarium main room, which will open its doors at 19:45.
Programme
20:00 – 21:00 – Speed-dating with astronomers
21:30 – 23:00 – “The largest black holes in the Universe“, by Sonia Antón, of Instituto de Astrofísica e Ciências do Espaço (IA).
23:00 – 23:30 – Concert “From the Big Bang to the Planets”, by the music band Gravitational Waves Trio.
Observations of the night sky will run continuously until 1:00, if weather conditions allow.
Noites no Observatório are monthly sessions comprising of a public talk, given by researchers of Instituto de Astrofísica e Ciências do Espçao (IA), and observations of the night sky with telescopes.
Noites no Observatório are being organised since 2009 and are regularly framed within national and international events, such as the European Researchers Night or the Science and Technology Week.

The observation of the night sky depends on the weather conditions. As this is run outside, we recommend the use of warm clothes.
The programme is run independently of the observations.
The public talk is given in Portuguese.
