On the Scientists National Day, the Instituto de Astrofísica e Ciências do Espaço (IA) presents at the Portuguese Parliament a special session of Ignite IAstro, showcasing national research at the frontier of current knowledge about the Universe.

Gathering eight IA researchers in five-minute presentations each, the format of the Ignite IAstro events allow the presentation, in a fast-paced and accessible way, of a selection of research topics in Space Sciences in Portugal, very often led by Portugal in international projects.

This special session follows the format of the Ignite IAstro Tour events. In this national tour, started in 2016, IA is presenting the research in these fields at towns and cities away from the large urban centres, with 15 events already hosted in 13 districts and in the Autonomous Region of Azores
