In this session we will peer beyond the horizon, when we will be able to capture direct images of exoplanets and find traces of life in their atmospheres.

How can science, as a tool, help us understand the world around us, the Universe and ourselves?

When did the first galaxies form in the history of the Universe? Is there life in the Solar System beyond Earth? The Astronomy of the next generation will have the means to answer these and other questions.

The public talk this month is titled “Astrobiology: The cosmic context of Life” and the speaker will be Daniel Folha, of the Instituto de Astrofísica e Ciências do Espaço.
