As part of the first Ciência Viva Academy Conference, Instituto de Astrofísica e Ciências do Espaço (IA) will run a special Ignite IAstro session, presenting national research in the frontiers of our knowledge about the Universe.

This special session follows the format of the Ignite IAstro Tour. In this national tour, which started in 2016, IA brings Astrophysics and Space Sciences research to the cities and villages away from the large metropolitan areas, having already taken place 17 events in 15 regions and in the Autonomous Region of the Azores.

In each Ignite IAstro, eight to ten researchers from Instituto de Astrofísica e Ciências do Espaço present their research in only five minutes each. Following the Ignite concept, each researcher has to pace his/her speech with a sequence of 20 slides that move forward automatically every 15 seconds.
