What do we know about the universe? What is it made of? How do we know that it is expanding? What will happen to the universe? What gives us this information?
C. Sofia Carvalho, Nelson Nunes and Tiago Barreiro, researchers at the Instituto de Astrofísica e Ciências do Espaço (IA), will join us, using their own illustrations, in an amazing ride starting at the origin of the Universe. We will find out that galaxies and stars are made of the same stuff that we are and that there are actually stars missing! There is more matter than we are able to see!
In each session, 3 IA researchers will share their fascination for Astronomy and Astrophysics in 3 short, simple and interactive talks. At the end of each talk, there will be a question and answer session.
Participants may also leave questions that will subsequently be answered by IA researchers. These questions and answers will be published in Visão Júnior magazine or on its website.
IAstro Júnior is a joint initiative run by the Instituto de Astrofísica e Ciências do Espaço (IA) and the young people’s magazine, Visão Júnior, specially designed to 7 to 12 year olds.
