The Instituto de Astrofísica e Ciências do Espaço cares about the protection of your personal data. Below, we provide information regarding the protection and use of these data by our institute within the scope of the SKIES training.
How are we
The Instituto de Astrofísica e Ciências do Espaço (IAstro) is a scientific research unit associated with the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon and the University of Porto.
Which personal data do we use
We collect and use the personal data directly provided by you. The following categories are collected: name, surname, email address, professional affiliation and status, and research field.
Use of personal data
Personal data are collected and used, respecting your choice and after your explicit consent, within the scope of the SKIES training activity, which is under the responsibility of the IAstro, and for which you have registered.
The data collected are used by the IAstro, within the scope of the activity in which you registered, for the following purposes:
- management of the registrations, before and during the activity;
- sending, by e-mail, of information and updates related to the activity;
- sending, by e-mail, of requests for confirmation of attendance of the activity;
- selection of the participants, if the number of registrations exceeds the number of places available;
- sending, by e-mail, of an activity evaluation questionnaire.
The categories of personal data collected, indicated above, are the necessary and sufficient for the purposes listed here.
Your data will not be passed on to others, nor will it be used for purposes other than those described above and for which you have given us your consent.
Responsible for the treatment of your personal data
The Instituto de Astrofísica e Ciências do Espaço (IAstro) is responsible for the processing of your personal data, from its collection, organization, maintenance and until its elimination.
For how long will your data be kept
The Instituto de Astrofísica e Ciências do Espaço (IAstro) will keep your personal data from the moment they were granted by you to the end of the SKIES project, on the 31st of August 2022. After this period, the data will be deleted in all its formats (digital and/or paper).
You can request the elimination of your data at any time by contacting us at .
Subcontracting
The IA has as a subcontractor, for the purposes of collecting the data, the following entity: Google, with headquarters in Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Google has its own Privacy Policy.
Your rights
In accordance with the applicable regulations, the data owner has the right to:
- request information regarding the processing of his/her personal data;
- request access to his/her stored personal data, as well as a copy of that same data;
- request the updating or rectification of incorrect, inaccurate or incomplete personal data;
- request at any time the elimination of his/her personal data as well as withdraw the consent previously given for the processing of such data;
- request a limitation of the processing of his/her personal data in specific cases;
- receive his/her personal data in a machine-readable format and, if technically possible, transfer them to another entity.
The data owner has the right to file a complaint with a supervisory authority, such as, in Portugal, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados.
