Autumn Moonshine: a night under the charm of the Moon and Astronomy

Still celebrating the 100th year of the International Astronomical Union and the 50 years over the arrival of Humankind on the Moon, the Instituto de Astrofísica e Ciências do Espaço (IA), in partnership with Unistellar, offers a special event at the Astronomical Observatory of Lisbon, a star party Autumn Moonshine.

Starting at 20h30 and until midnight, the public will be able to gaze the Moon and other celestial objects in the Autumn sky through IA’s telescopes, the new digital telescope developed by Unistellar, or bring their own instruments. There will also be guided tours to the historical building every half-hour from 21h00 to 22h30.

Free entrance.

Important notes:

  • The astronomical observations are subject to favourable weather conditions. Warm clothing and comfortable shoes are recommended.
  • The Instituto Superior de Agronomia (ISA) charges 2€ for parking at Tapada da Ajuda (except motorcycles).
